I always wanted to be an astronaut.
Growing up, I was the child obsessed with outer space. If you had asked me what I wanted to be when I'd grow up, for the first decade of my life, my answer was almost always "an astronaut." Sadly, my childhood career plans came to a halt after the Columbia disaster, and I was on a search for a new life plan.
Looking back on my childhood to that point, it had dawned on me-I always loved to color and draw. In fact, the first word I ever wrote was on a coloring page. Don't believe me? Just ask my mom. I'm sure she still has it lying around somewhere. But, nevertheless, I digress. Besides coloring to my little heart’s content, I was constantly moving the furniture around in my room much to my parents' displeasure. At that point, it only made sense that I embark on some sort of design journey.
My journey took me to Lawrence Technological University where I obtained my Bachelor's of Interior Architecture. While at Lawrence Tech., I fell in love with graphic design and marketing. Though I vowed that I'd never go back to school after I graduated the first time, I soon found myself missing the pace of school and the ability to learn and grow as a person. My job description quickly was changing, and I realized that I wanted to obtain a degree that would give me the flexibility to grow as a person and designer well into the future. Therefore, I decided to go back to school and obtained my MBA from Wayne State University.
These days, when I'm not competing in local archery tournaments or cheering on the Detroit Lions, you can find me playing the guitar or creating new paintings. I'm also probably listening to some random music, drinking iced coffee, or working my way through my book collection as you are reading this.
If you'd like to learn more about my journey in life or the time I was bit by a baby goat at a petting zoo, please contact me. I'd love to hear from you!
